Food Tasting @ the Bag of Beans, Tagaytay City

I have heard so many good feedbacks about Bag of Beans-Tagaytay City and been very vocal that I really wanted to check if the praises are true. So when Yobs and I had the chance, we grabbed it and headed to Tagaytay for a taste test.

As commuters, we never had a hard time looking for the place. Since I live in GMA, Cavite, and we were coming from there, it was just three short rides. From Olivarez-Bayan, we jumped in a Nasugbu bus and told the bus conductor that we were going to get off at Bag of Beans and he nodded without questions.
For first timers, you will be directed automatically from the highway to Bag of Beans' little bakeshop, where breads, pastries, jams, various kinds of coffee beans and gift items, like coffee mugs, are on sale. Then, you will be led to the garden on the left entrance where you can choose your own places. The garden nooks with comfy and cushioned sofa sets are the best corners. Unfortunately, all were occupied because there were so many guests. We had no choice but to dine inside the well-lit and ventilated room.

Service was efficient and prompt, the ambiance peaceful and romantic.

As usual, we asked for their specialties and ordered Norwegian salmon steak, blueberry cheesecake, apple pie, melon and strawberry fresh juices. Since we were both full (it was only past 3pm) and just had lunch at home, we shared an order of salmon steak and added extra rice. It was the best salmon steak ever, at least for me and Yobs. The meat was yummy and it was not too salty, not too lame. It comes with fresh and steamed veggies and rice.

Norwegian Salmon Steak (P350)
Fresh strawberry and melon juices (P95 each)
Bag of Beans' apple pie, according to Yobs, is just perfectly hot. The crust is thin and freshly baked and the apple filling is not too sweet for him. It is something you won't get enough with. Up to the last bite, I could see him chewing with satisfaction and for a time saw him doing the "Mmmm...Masarap siya..." expression.

Apple Pie (P95)
And of course, the blueberry cheesecake was mine. I literally forgot my name when I had my first bite. All I felt and had in mind was its crunchy crust, creamy cream cheese filling, and syrup-y and not-so-sweet-not-so-sour blueberry toppings. It was the best BBCC I've ever eaten in my entire life and I thought it would be nice and cool to share it with Yobs. Guess what? I also ordered one as my pasalubong for my Mom. Apple pie for Dad.

Blueberry Cheesecake (P135)
I will surely come back to BoB. I am a sweet tooth and I sure know I will crave for their blueberry cheesecake soon. Their salmon steak is worth coming back too, plus I still have more dishes to try.
